ADMISSION

Entrance requirements: a student must either have passed grade X, or equivalent, or he or she must pass our entrance examination. Due to shortage of classrooms, accommodation, and funds, the Institute is only able to open a new class in Buddhist philosophy every two or three years.

It admit a total of 30 mnths and lay students (not including foreigners) at a time. For proper admission to the Institute, a student either needs to have at least a class X examination passed certificate, or to pass the entrance test. There are other minor entrance requirements also. The institute places announcements about the dates of new admissions in Tibetan Newspapers and News Magazines.
