The Institute of Buddhist Dialectics and its branch College for Higher Tibetan Studies are non-profit, non-sectarian educational institution whose livelihood depends on the generous donations of private sponsors and Tibet support groups. The IBD and Sarah College provides short and long term programs for the preservation of Tibetan literary and philosophical traditions and train teachers, administrators, researchers by organising and hosting workshops and trainings for teachers from different Tibetan schools and newly recruited Tibetan civil servants.

The survival and sustainability fo both the main and the branch institutes are completely dependent upon generous donations by institutions and individuals.

The Institute is a registered (Regd. no. 182450054) Foreign Contribution Account holder, sanctioned by the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India and entitled to receive funds under the nature of Cultural, Economic, Educational and Social purposes.
